Welcome!
WHO WE ARE
Douglas Silas Solicitors are a small, niche but nationally acclaimed firm of solicitors specialising exclusively in cases concerning Special Educational Needs (SEN). We 'get' children with SEN and understand the daily problems their parents face. Also, our whole firm specialises in SEN - that is all that we do!

WHAT WE DO
We help parents, including those who have to do things themselves, either as a 'consultant' advising to help them successfully navigate through the the 'Statementing' process themselves or, more often, advise and represent them from the very beginning right through to an appeal to the SEND Tribunal (SENDIST) where that becomes necessary.
Our aim is to resolve disputes as quickly, efficiently and cheaply as possible. We are also completely transparent about Our Costs and can offer Fixed/Capped Fees for Tribunal appeals.
WHAT PEOPLE SAY
Over the past 15 years, Douglas has helped thousands of parents get the right outcome for their child, even when they thought that there was no hope left. For over a decade he has been listed as an expert in the leading legal directories who have said things like:
"'... [he is] probably the best solicitor there is for claimant type work in the field of education law', 'very committed, thorough and efficient'
”He knows the law inside-out" and "cares deeply for his clients""
"[he] has ‘extensive knowledge’, provides ‘faultless legal advice’, and is ‘pre-eminent in his field’."
During the past few years Douglas has also assembled an excellent team around him. The Legal 500 has stated:
" The ‘outstanding’ team at specialist firm Douglas Silas Solicitors is ‘efficient, kind and committed’, and is a leader in Special Educational Needs (SEN) matters....
In October 2011, Douglas was shortlisted by the Law Society for it's prestigious 'Solicitor of the Year (Private Practice)' award.
